ViewFinder Show!

Coming up this weekend ViewFinder at Junctionview Studios
Saturday & Sunday from 11 am-7pm

Yet another Wonderful Craft show that I am honored to participate in.  It maybe the first year for this but it won't be the last and we have a wonderful team of people spearheading this event.  It is not only a craft show but also open art studios from the Junctionview folks and other local artists showing their works on various wall spaces.

For my part I have helped in the Sponsorship organizaition and Volunteer organization.  This year has been eventful (quite literally) for me with my first taste in Independence day and now this event.  I feel good about it though and very appreciated when all is said and done.  That is one great thing about Columbus the people here are very appreciative (or at least the ones I surround myself with) of any and all efforts for the participation of events.

I've been working very diligently on re-stocking my fabric and felt hair pins, swag bag goods and Cowls.  Here is a peek of some of the things I will have.

Published

Late last week my knitting pattern with Lark Books was published!
You might of remembered when I submitted it nearly a year ago for their capes and cowls book submission.  It is an amazing feeling to have made a mark somewhere out in this great big world.  Even better is that I was one of the two featured designers whose pattern was posted on their website, Lark Crafts.

They dubbed my cowl Reckless.  Which I found to be a good fit.  It was a great experience having to write out my pattern when I've been traditionally a total free style knitter making things up as I go along or having my patterns memorized.  I hope that you enjoy it and I'd love to see pictures if anyone out there ends up making it.

Proceeding onward

CIMG3842, originally uploaded by tornangel012.

Today was a good day of progress. Sorry again no photo of myself or what I was wearing but it really wasn't interesting whatsoever and nothing made by me either.

I finished the pattern for the checkered Cowl shirt dress. It turned out much better then I could of hoped for. So much still to be done though. I have bits and pieces of many of the looks for the photo shoot but only 1-2 complete looks and now I am eagerly waiting for fabrics to come in. Mostly I need to work on some shirts and get some pants fitted. I also need to start my work in leather. Lot's of finishing ahead of me also. Thank god for my interns Teresa and Emily. I am just barely going to get it all done and without them I had no hope of getting them done.

There are still a few things to be done on this such as the drawstring cord for the cowl, hemming, and attaching the buttons. I need to work on my knitting machine tomorrow while the interns are in. Also need to prep some handouts for class tomorrow on making a sleeve from scratch.
