OOTD in Pittsburgh

A couple weeks ago the Hubby and I were in Pittsburgh for a bit of a holiday. We were going to see the Distant Worlds Concert (which is music from the video game series Final Fantasy) with tickets that some friends had pooled together to get us for our Wedding present.  I don't talk about it very often on this blog but people forget I am at heart a huge nerd.  It is the 25th anniversary of the series and I was pretty damn stoked.  Being only thirty years old, I have spent my entire life growing up with this series and it has particularly influenced my life  in terms of style and art.  Playing and watching these games was like turning my dreams and fantasies into reality.

Now onto the Clothes!

Gary Graham Fall 2001 Silk Coat (I got this when I interned with him in the summer of 2002)
BCBG Maroon silk skirt from Jefferson Ville Outlet
Target tank top
Costume National soft pink pearlized shoes (one of my most favorite shoes)
Pearl Chandelier Earrings were a present from my Bestie in New Jersey

I love these shoes so much that I barely wear them for fear of wearing them out.  They are the most delicate pink pearl color in super soft and supple leather.  I found them on clearance at Filene's Basement many years ago (RIP).  The heel height is perfectly balanced to make them some of the most comfortable shoes that I own as well.

When my Best Friend got me these earrings for my birthday years ago I thought she was a little silly.  They were far too mature in taste for me but as time wore on I grew into them.  Now they are one of my favorite pairs of dress earrings.  The pearls are the same pink as my Costume National shoes which is a delight to wear them together.

A close up of my hair and makeup before I washed up and went to bed.  I just used a 1.5" curling iron for some soft curls at the end with no product so they would leave a soft tousled look.  My eyes were a combination of MAC and Lime Crime Products.

Here are some Candid photos from the Event.

I have one more set to share with you from Pittsburgh but that is for another day.

My Favorite Grey Wedges

I Must not forget these shoes.  I found them once at the BCBG outlet in a size 5.  I thought I could find them easily, boy was I wrong.   Don't you hate when you find that most perfect thing and then you didn't buy it for whatever reason.  Then it eats at you.  You start to obsess and pedestal this thing and it evolves and sometimes it turns into something completely different then what you originally saw.  That very nearly happened to me but I was blessed to find them again at another BCBG outlet unfortunately not my size.  Who knew that an outlet item could actually end up being a current trend Item that is still selling for full price at the real store!  I had spent probably 3-4 months searching for these online and I found a close and more expensive doppelganger but not what I was looking for.  The problem was I was only search BCBG and Max Azria but NOT BCBGeneration the lower little sister line of theirs.  I was mistaken since I had seen it on a runway show that it would be on the higher line.

Here she is so I will not forget and I can get her a bit later now at my leisure unless I pick her up at the Outlet first. "BCBGENERATION GRYFFEN PLATFORM WEDGE HEEL"  it comes in black also but like I said I died when I saw the Grey and tried on the perfect little size 5 for my freakishly tiny feet.

Blog the Holiday!

It's amazing to me how much fame fashion bloggers have been getting lately.  In the past half hour I have seen 4 bloggers that I normally read being used in Holiday Campaigns for Fossil and Coach.
Song of Style
Keiko Lynn
Gala Darling
Glamourai

I love how this Coach Promo Video just catches so many of them off their element and you can see they are real people.  They smile, make quirky awkward comments and breath.  It amazes me and makes me happy that Bloggers are getting such recognition.  There are even conferences now for bloggers.  It's been going on for a few years but still it grows and grows.  Blogging is pretty damn near common place it seems.

What I love about Fashion bloggers is getting to see things from their side and watching them progress in their writing styles, design and tastes.  How each personality has a different opininion or take on a particular season or trends or how they even rebel and make their own trends.  There are a million and one bloggers out there myself included but it is just a great addition of information out there.

Currently my favorite holiday looks and accessories are from BCBG. They are also having a fabulous sale on some items till November 8th for 30% off of a good number of selected Items.  BCBG is one of the very few not so common retail stores that we happen to have at one of our Malls in Columbus.  I love the overabundance and decadence that the holiday trends bring!  Below are my favorite (and there are alot) picks from BCBG

Seriously?! The Hinged long rings are to die for!  Prices are not breaking the bank either considering what BCBG Jewelry usually goes for.  Majority of those Rings are under $100.

Oh dearie me!

My posts have been as infrequent as my Snail mail. Sorry for that. The new part time job at Express really poops me out. I think I am getting too old for that kind of a job. My search will continue but for now at least I have a job.

Along with my hand written planner I also love to penpal to friends. I think these kinds of letters are much more precious and special. They are keepsakes all on their own. Sometimes I write letters to my friends that never even write back. Just the process sometimes can clear my head. I know for sure that someone out there is reading and is getting my thoughts. Sometimes this blog seems pointless yet I continue anyways.

This Letter is from my Friend Stephanie Bracciano who also keeps an Etsy store called MidWest Vintage. We met randomly through another friend who basically told us both that she knew someone else that liked to penpal and we both wrote.

I actually got a decent photo of my outfit from a few days ago. The camera is still on the outs. This is me in my basement studio between patterns and pattern table.
Skirt is Express from several years ago
Shirt is a new Graphic Tee from Express "love shirt
BCBG gladiator jelly sandals from the outlet
Wide elastic belt from target

As promised

As Promised from yesterday here are some tester shot from the Cincinnati Photo Shoot with Adam Leigh-Manuell. It was a really good time but hot in the studio since he was using a fogger and couldn't have the air running or it would ruin the effect.

He used two models and then I was there with the wardrobe and my two interns as well. We also had this amazing makeup artist/hair stylists on set. It was a great time and made a lot of good connections. I can't wait to work together again.

Here is my outfit from yesterday.
None today because I was feeling under the weather most of the day.
- Helmut Lang white windbreaker with off center zipper
- BCBG wool knit jumpsuit
- Adidas Orginal white leather and suede yoga sneaker with dark purple stripes

Tomorrow I promise a new look of the day and some more in depth about what is going on like the crazy custom order from a girl in Singapore!
