Fresh Greens - OOTD

Yesterday I celebrated the gorgeous weather by dressing to match. I love getting new clothes and this this cropped lace shirt was a purchase on my New Jersey Trip. I had also switched to my more "adult" purse since I was visit my high brow Bestie and her family. Normally I don't care but I know she cares so I try to pander to her because I love her. Like how I kept my hair a boring brown/black for half a year per her request for her wedding and the events leading up to it.

This cropped shirt I am in LOVE with but it's a bit challenging to piece into my wardrobe without being belly baring. I look forward to the styling challenge it will give me this summer.

Lace Cropped Green Shirt - Anthropologie (on sale right now!)
Gold Tapestry Skirt - Zac Posen for Target
Baby G Watch
Delicate Arm party - Soon to be on my Etsy
Gold Platforms - BCBGeneration from DSW
Creme Coach Bag - Bought at Prime Outlet

I've been making a bunch of these really delicate beaded bracelets and I've just been working on taking the right pictures of them and figure out pricing for the Etsy store. I like to wear colors that match my outfit for today.

Here's a close up look, I have a matte blue grey, Mint green metallic, Pure Silver and Old Gold.
These colors will be up for sale shortly amongst a variety of other colors. It's been a busy Spring full of meetings and potential projects as well as getting our house together for some major construction. We are one week away now from starting our kitchen remodel which will include gutting and installing a half bath. I'm also looking to get a Studio space so I have a much more open set up to use my knitting machines as well as spread out my fine arts to better work on my portfolio for another round of Graduate School applications in the next year. Try and try against eh?

OOTD - Wisconsin Wedding

Doing a little backtracking on my Brother's Wedding in Wisconsin.  It was back on October first and their colors were Creme, Orange and Grey.

Anthropologie creme cotton dress that has slate blue/grey geometric shapes
Navy Anthropologie Drape cardigan
Coach Black and Grey Flats
Peach silk flower hair clip from AGACI in Chicago
Swatch baby blue watch
Emerald and gold Necklace from my Mother as a Birthday present

The shoes and pattern design of the dress up close.  The shoes had these coach logo silk rosettes for decoration that I hadn't seen on any of their typical store items.  I think It was a runway item since I got them from Filene's Basement.
Speaking of which for those readers living in Columbus the Filene's Basment on Sawmill road is closing it's doors this Sunday (boo).  You can read the Article here.

My Dad and Me
A somewhat rare picture of us together and dressed decently.  Usually when I see him one of us is wearing sweats and hanging out at the house sick or being a couch potato so we hardly have a good reason to dress up together.

All the Men together Dressed up.
From Left to right my oldest brother Ed, my Husband Andy, my Dad and my middle Brother David who was getting ready to marry.

My Mom and Dad waiting for their turn at pictures with the couple and family.  I love that my mom wore her Hanbok for all three of our weddings.  It just seemed appropriate.  It's so pretty also how could you not want to be in the swathes of that pale green organza with delicate flower embroideries.

My Nephew got to wear the male version Hanbok as the ring bearer.  You can see it was a quite stressful for him.

Lastly I just had to throw in this picture of me and Niece.  She's really growing up quickly and such a pretty little girl.  I'll have great fun with her when she's a teen and we can go shopping together.

I know when I go to Weddings I always pay special attention to what other people are wearing do you?  If not maybe it's something fun to think about next time you are at one.
Cheers!

Hello Garden!

We have been having an unexpected amount of heavy rains and flash storms here in Columbus, Ohio but I took the chance for some small dry moments to head out into the backyard for some OTD photos.  Small snag with where I wanted to shoot at but I'll address that at the end.  Time to look pretty!

Express one piece Tank Dress with draping bead & chain trim
Converse Grey Pinstripe Blouse from Target
Christian Dior Bow Earrings from Best Friend
(no really my best friend gave them to me there is no link)
Baby G- Pink Square Watch
Cream Coach Purse from Coach Outlet in Jeffersonville
White Rabbit key chain from Coach at Easton
Michael Kors Silver Sandals

I love this picture, I feel like it could very well be an advertisement for Coach or a website promo image.

As much as I love my Michael Kors silver heels there is no way I can get through my entire work day walking around in them, so the practicality comes in of substituting them at work with my trusty ole Silver Dr Scholl's slides. My little Girl Rambo loves to be in pictures.  Sometimes I think I should just give up and incorporate her then she will probably hate being in the photos.  This is a theory I need to explore.

Below is the reason why I had a little snag in taking my photos.  I was setting up and taking test shots when I noticed past our lovely daisies were my neighbor's granny panties drying in their glory for all to see.  This does not a pretty picture make.  A funny one it does make!  I was fortunate that the leopard prints were not out in full effect.  It really is not charming to come home from work to see across your little neighborhood fence rows of granny panties blowing in the breeze.

Weekend Bliss

Despite still being sick and an unfortunate monthly visit from "Aunt Irma" I had a great weekend.  Very jam packed busy but also productive.
Friday after work I went through the process of going back to my natural hair color - bluish green.  It took about 3 hours.  For Asian hair my hair dyes remarkably well.  Actually for any hair it dyes really well.  The first step was going blonde.  That process usually takes people 2-3 processes to get it to go this light but for me it only takes once during a one hour process.

It is still a little brassy for about 3-4 inches where I used this one dye then the remaining  was as blonde as my roots, but it's all going to be covered over again so I'm not that worried.  Having hair the color of skittles is an ongoing process and the first dye out is always not as good as you hoped.  Fresh hair at the roots will always seem to give you the best color.

Under the Dryer for the blue/green.  I sat there for another 20 mins and the rest of the time was just applying the bleach, rinse & shampoo, then applying the dye with another rinse & shampoo followed by being blown out.  My stylist is Stephanie Mahone and she is FANTASTIC!

My Final Result when I was shopping in Target!  It's a little more green then I would like but like I said it's a process.  The next time we'll add some blue and I might go for a sweet baby blue layer as well that I saw this nifty Crafter at the Midwest Craft Caucus had in her hair.

Also that weekend my middle brother announced his Engagement finally.  There unfortunately was not much of a story to share.  They were in Florida went out for a nice dinner and he proposed (not even on one knee).  I like to akin my brother with Buster from "Arrested Development".  Always going to the beat of a separate drummer then the rest of the family, also quiet and in his own world apart from ours.  One the way back my oldest brother forced us to stop at the Outlet malls at Jeffersonville which are always great but not when it is 95 degrees outside wearing a dark blue maxi dress and gold chunky platform heels.

I did however pick up my first Coach bag!  I'm not huge into labels but this style of Coach bag I had my eyes on since it came out several years ago.  I would of liked it in a baby blue color but my choices were slim being at the outlet.  Originally a $358.00 bag I got for $141.00.  This is also my first grown up purse to own!  I named her Stella.  She is gorgeous and everything I wanted in a grown up bag.

Since we were forced to endure the ungodly heat and my feet were still sore from the Wedding shenanigans of my best friend I had to stop and buy some cheap flip flops.  At least they had Jolly Roger's that was their one redeeming quality and surprisingly at J.crew.

There was also the Midwest Craft Caucus this weekend but that deserves it's own post as well as my National Advertisement with Brother Sewing machines!

Blog the Holiday!

It's amazing to me how much fame fashion bloggers have been getting lately.  In the past half hour I have seen 4 bloggers that I normally read being used in Holiday Campaigns for Fossil and Coach.
Song of Style
Keiko Lynn
Gala Darling
Glamourai

I love how this Coach Promo Video just catches so many of them off their element and you can see they are real people.  They smile, make quirky awkward comments and breath.  It amazes me and makes me happy that Bloggers are getting such recognition.  There are even conferences now for bloggers.  It's been going on for a few years but still it grows and grows.  Blogging is pretty damn near common place it seems.

What I love about Fashion bloggers is getting to see things from their side and watching them progress in their writing styles, design and tastes.  How each personality has a different opininion or take on a particular season or trends or how they even rebel and make their own trends.  There are a million and one bloggers out there myself included but it is just a great addition of information out there.

Currently my favorite holiday looks and accessories are from BCBG. They are also having a fabulous sale on some items till November 8th for 30% off of a good number of selected Items.  BCBG is one of the very few not so common retail stores that we happen to have at one of our Malls in Columbus.  I love the overabundance and decadence that the holiday trends bring!  Below are my favorite (and there are alot) picks from BCBG

Seriously?! The Hinged long rings are to die for!  Prices are not breaking the bank either considering what BCBG Jewelry usually goes for.  Majority of those Rings are under $100.

Getting Comfortable

CIMG4211, originally uploaded by tornangel012.

This was my last daily photo at CCAD for the summer.
I was wearing.....
Free People Creme shirt
Distress Express Jeans shortened about 6" by me
New Coach wooden platforms in Bronze with lacing hole through the platform heel. On sale at DSW $60

It's so strange and refreshing to have nothing to do again. Now that classes have ended I have time to actually hang out with people and make plans. Unfortunately my August has already been totally booked with events, going away parties, travel and meetings.

My trunk show date seems to be changing once again. It's a bit unnerving seeing as I have scheduled my entire sewing around it. If it is later then that's good but if it is sooner then I am screwed. This weekend is nothing but Sewing Bralettes or at least tonight is.

I am finding it much easier to blog everyday when I have a stock of things to do it on. I just take my pictures everyday and then slowly I can think and work on these posts. I would of liked to make it a real daily thing where I actually post what I wore on that day but for a bit at least this is what I must do. Whenever the tides turn for me and I can get my SLR camera I hope it will change. I did get as a little unknown present from my Uncle that recently moved back to Korea a new Epson All in One printer that I also needed.

Just a taste

daily, originally uploaded by tornangel012.

This is a little bit of a late post. Tomorrow I promise to begin the real journey.

I will officially put up my rules and such for my continuing person project in making a new dedication to my craft which is Fashion design.

For tonight I just wanted to share a new daily outfit.
I am wearing Coach bronze wooden platform sandals with extra long wrap around cording that starts from a bronze leather lined hole in the middle of the heel of the platform.
American Apparel Tank dress
Turquoise wide elastic belt from Forever 21 for only $4.50
Mint Green damask Bolero Designed and made by me
Toki Doki I love LA watch
Carved wood flower necklace from Korea

I am also playing around with the scheme of this blog. I don't like the way my banner doesn't seem to fit all the way across it and playing with some different color concepts also to make it match and meld better with my real website.

Other things going on is that there is actually a for Lease sign up in my old work place Stitching Post that makes us in Columbus wonder if we really are going to have jobs there again and if it even is going to open up. Not so bad for me just a little annoying to have to find a new part time job but I'm hoping for the best. I have one more full week of workshop to complete for CCAD and then I am off for two months before my CE and SMAC classes start. I am very hopeful for the coming year that I will get more recognition as an excellent teacher and that I am giving more classes and responsibility. I need to work on my skills a bit more though. I really want to get back into painting and learn how to draw better fashion illustrations also.

I'll be really sad if when I start to interview for new part time jobs I am required to dye my hair back to a more natural shade. I love the Blue and I think it is surprisingly one of the best colors of hair that I could have.
