OTD - SLUT UP!

So I don't get to dress up to go clubbing very often anymore.  My good Friend Arnell was having his huge birthday bash and I heard they were going to this new club/bar called Double Happiness.  Little did I know it was completely rented out by our crew so I didn't need to go so overboard.  C'est La Vie!
My Slut Up bitchy picture for the night.

Just having a little too much fun with the remote for my DSLR.
Necklace is Geeky Cat by Kuma Crafts on Etsy
You can also see the eye make up the best on this photo.

Outfit Details
Dress UO - Super Sale got it for $7.00
Wide 3 strap Cinch Belt Target
Rhinestone Silver Hoop Earrings from Express
Silver sandals - Michael by Michael Kors
Tokidoki "I Love LA" bullet Watch
Military Jacket from Express
Yep that's all.... I really love the remote for my camera.  I also like making stupid faces.  I'm probably going to start putting them in instead of editing them all out from now on, because that is just me and my personality!
Cheers!

7 years ago this day - OTD

Well not exactly this day since it was January 21st but 7 years ago from then Andy and I started the journey that has lead to our engagement and soon to be marriage in the summer!

It was very convenient that it also happened to be Restaurant Week when our Anniversary hit so we got some top notch nosh at discount prices.  We dined at The Claremont, which if you have never been there is like a step back to the 70's fine dining experiance.

This is what I wore that night.
Gold Bib Necklace - Express
Heather Brown Turtle neck - Victoria's Secret Catalog
Leopard Print Dress- H&M on sale $20
Skinny Jeans - Re-Rock for Express
Dark Brown Wooden Studded Clogs - Michael Kors

In the past couple days I've finally put my head to the grindstone and started to work on my wedding dress.  I'm using a lot of Silk Organza and it's such a hard process.  Not because the design is difficult but because it's my wedding dress!  I will know all the mistakes all the quirks even though no one else ca see them.  It's hard even with all my sewing experiance to think about wearing what I make for this big day.

I've also decided to deck out the band in some custom accessories and outfits.  The three insturmentalists (Guitar, Bass and Drums) will have bowties in my wedding colors and the two ladies (singers) will be wearing dresses to match the boys.  I want to go with a little vintage rocker geek chic for the look.

Orientation

CIMG3893, originally uploaded by tornangel012.

Today I was at CCAD attending the first orientation meeting for College Preview that I am teaching the elective for fashion fundamentals.

I am wearing my navy and white striped dress with oversized collar made by me
Bright Green Waist belt from BeBe on sale for $19.99
Michael Kors gold slide sandals with all wooden base and platform.
Toki Doki I LOVE LA watch (with some close up pictures)
Silver hoops from Express
Silver rose ring from "higher ground" at Comfest.

Sitting through that orientation was so fun. As boring and dumb as the information was it felt good because I was being a part of something big. I would be a mentor to some of these kids for the next month. It really took me back to my freshman year of SAIC. The dorm life all the friends and mishaps, classes, assignments. It was all so wonderful. The bad and the good it made it life and made a good 4 years of my life. I learned so much there and had so many great teachers. I hope that I can be a good example and inspire these kids to do something great at least help them to acheive their own goals be in the portfolio or even just realizing that perhaps fashion or even art school may not even be the right place for them.

As for the Photoshoots coming up........ I'm feeling pretty good I think that I will have enough pieces and I can relax a little bit. seeing that I am going to pull some old pieces just because I feel like I have been pushed too much to just accept their guidelines so this is my punch back. They are just going to have to accept whatever I send to them. With all that in mind I am starting a new sweater, maybe it will get done maybe it won't but it's not that important to me either way. I will get what I need to get done now and worry about the fashion show after the photo shoot. My main concern is the leather jacket I want for the shoot. Everything else seems to be on the back burner.

Day One!

Off to a little bit of a rocky start as I am still trying to figure out the best way to take my photos. I think I have found just the place using a tripod in this empty corner. This was taken with the help of a mirror in the kitchen that is actually too tall for me.

Today I was only wearing jewelry that I had made and stretch jeans that I altered.

I am wearing Michael Kors Gold tone wooden platform slides from Filene's basement over 6 years ago.
- Cheap Monday high waisted stretch jeans bought at Urban Outfitters for $5 and altered in the waist by 4"
- Black Cami from Guess outlet
- Grey open mesh sweater with tab sleeves from H&M in Santa Monica
- Je táime enamel plate necklace made by me
- Adina small diamond square necklace from my boyfriend on valentines day 2 years ago.
- Toki Doki "

Things I am currently working on is my dress to wear to my 10 year high school reunion this friday. I have nearly finished my purse to take also. I will probably get that done tomorrow and maybe the dress.

I am meeting on Monday with the owner of this one boutique that I am in LOVE with called Collier West. They are mostly home goods but every time I walk into there I feel at home because it is exactly how I would want to decorate the house if I had boundless amounts of money. But I finally got the guts to go over and ask if they were interested in seeing my jewelry.

Before I went there today since they had a "back in five" sign I stopped into Substance. Very cute store that I also like their clothes but find it almost too plain and simple for me. They always have shoes that I am keen on and big leather purses. Today they had a lot of things that I liked but with this "Clothes Diet" as I refer it to other people I couldn't buy a thing. Except for these super comfy and cute navy ballerina slippers that she had been trying to sell because they don't fit anyone. It says size 6 but actually it was a size 5 PERFECT for me! And since Shoes are something I can't make it's ok! Anyways we got to talking and she sounded interested in buying so I just need to get my self together once again to present and work on my pricing. I think I will only present a couple things to start. I'm not entirely sure if that is the spot for me plus they might refuse my price point.

Also on my list of places to visit I stopped by Undone to discuss the Trunk Show in August a little more and was informed that there is a sidewalk sale that they invited me to be a part of. Wonderful! Today was a great day lot's of connections and possible opportunities.
